Sibs, the UK based charity that supports brothers and sisters of disabled children and adults emphasises the importance of siblings' needs being recognised throughout the pandemic.
Clare Kassa, the Chief Executive of Sibs, said, “It is really, really crucial that the dreams, ambitions and needs of the UK’s siblings get recognised, as they are often overlooked.”
She said, “Lockdown was hard for everyone, but it was particularly felt by siblings; they were more isolated and providing more care than they do normally.”
The charity aims to enhance the lives of siblings who are caring for their brother or sister by providing support and information across the UK.
They have a COVID-specific information hub on their website that offer advice for siblings who are needing support.
Sibs is celebrating its twenty-year anniversary next month, and Clare said, “our current aim, by the end of 2022, is reaching more siblings.”
